Previously known as AG3, G3, G3X, G4, G5

Universal Arma-Gard™ is a uniquely engineered graphite rupture disc device. Its patented design overcomes problems associated with damage of conventional graphite rupture discs, caused by poor storage, handling and installation practice; as it is not adversely affected by misaligned, poorly supported pipework, over or uneven torquing of pipe flange bolts.

This is achieved through the use of a steel armored ring, which protects the graphite rupture disc element, while allowing for the correct sealing.
The Universal Arma-Gard™’s monobloc type design equires no holder, enabling direct fitting between flanges.

Unlike conventional monobloc designs the Universal Arma-Gard™ eliminates the possibility of side wall bursts. All these added benefits do not detract from excellent corrosion resistance and low-pressure capability normally associated with graphite rupture discs.

  • High levels of corrosion resistance
  • Alleviates problems associated with misaligned and poorly supported pipework
  • Very low pressure capability
  • Non torque-sensitive
  • Back pressure support can be included where required
  • Elimination of side wall burst

Temperature shields are designed for use in graphite disc applications where gas operating temperatures can reach 600°C. The shield consists of a stainless steel carrier with a ceramic fiber insulating flock and is installed directly upstream of the rupture disc.

To ensure the correct performance of a rupture disc, it must be used in its correct holder, as specified by the rupture disc manufacturer.
