Non-Invasive ATEX approved burst detection
Flo-Tel™+ is an ATEX approved, non-invasive, magnetic burst-detection system, providing an excellent solution for identifying when a rupture disc functions within arduous operating conditions. Operating on simple reed switch and magnet technology, Flo-Tel™+ is designed to offer a practical and reusable solution for rupture disc detection needs.
Flo-Tel™+ offers significant cost savings
Unlike traditional membrane-type detection, Flo-Tel™+ is non-invasive to the process, thereby eliminating false alarms associated with other detection systems. Flo-Tel™+ offers significant cost savings to customers as after rupturing the disc is the only element to be replaced, this eliminates expensive re-wiring costs and maintenance planning known with these other types of burst detectors.
System operation and technology
The sensor is fitted into a holder with a magnet on the rupture disc. When the rupture disc bursts; the rupture disc with its magnet arc away from the sensor, giving an open circuit signal. After rupturing, the disc is the only element that needs replacing. The Flo-Tel sensor is not in contact with the process medium, therefore, there are no potential leak paths. Flo-Tel™+ comprises a non-invasive design, thus not affected by downstream pressure fluctuations or corrosion.
Flo-Tel™+ offering a wide range of temperature use
Flo-Tel™+ must be connected to an intrinsically safe supply that is compatible with the following values:
• Ui = 28V d.c.
• Ii = 84Ma
• Pi = 0.55W
• Li = 0
• Ci = 0
• T6 (T85°C) (Ta= -100°C to 50°C)
• T5 (T100°C) (Ta= -100°C to 90°C)
• T4 (T135°C) (Ta= -100°C to 125°C)
• T3 (T200°C) (Ta= -100°C to 190°C)
Maximum process temperature 300°C.
The detection system is ATEX approved, thus able to operate in all levels of potential explosive atmospheres in process temperatures ranging from -100°C up to 300°C available with a 2m, 5m or 10m cable making it compatible with various site designs.
