History

Over 70 Years Pressure Management Experience

Founded in 1936 in North East England Elfab was originally named Torday & Carlisle after its two Hungarian owners. As well as manufacturing nickel foil using electrical fabricating methods, the company also refurbished marine engineering equipment.

During the 1970's Torday & Carlisle purchased the rupture disc manufacturing division from a company called FA Hughes Ltd, resulting in the rename Elfab Hughes - Elfab being a abbreviation of electrofabrication.

In 1994 Elfab became known as Elfab Ltd, acquiring the R Jenkins graphite rupture disc business at the same time, although this traded under its own name until it publicly merged with Elfab in 2001.

Today Elfab have over 70 years pressure management experience, exporting over 60% of its business to over 70 countries worldwide. Elfab are a truly global organisation.
