Overpressure protection for high-
voltage switchgear applications
OE9 rupture discs are typically installed onto gas-insulated switchgear and instrument transformers to contain pressurised insulating gas (SF6).
In the event of an internal short circuit or external fire, the OE9 disc removes the risk of a pressure explosion, provides safe venting for the SF6 gas and prevents contact between personnel and equipment.
The disc is mounted directly onto the equipment within customer specific flanges. This reduces installation time and eliminates the need for separate holders. As a result, the discs provide the utmost safety for employees and the environment.
They can withstand full vacuum and benefit from a superior leak tightness of 10-6 cc/sec. This affords them a long operational life in both indoor and outdoor applications.
OE9 rupture discs are also designed for circuit breakers.
