Elfab Limited is a British company owned by Halma plc since 1993.

Halma is a strongly cash generative and highly profitable group which develops, makes and markets products that are used to protect lives, or improve the quality of life, for individuals and businesses worldwide. It has grown to be an established FTSE 250 business and currently comprises just under 40 subsidiary companies operating worldwide. Today, Halma’s technology centres on sensors, its markets are primarily the protection of human and capital assests, and the Group continues to grow through organic expansion and acquisition.

Halma’s four specialist business sectors are:

Process safety

Products which protect assets and people at work. Specialised interlocks which safely control critical processes. Instruments which detect flammable and hazardous gases. Explosion protection and corrosion monitoring products.

Infrastructure safety

Products which detect hazards to protect assets and people in public spaces and commercial buildings. Fire and smoke detectors, fire detection systems, security sensors and audible/visual warning devices. Sensors used on automatic doors and elevators in buildings and transportation.


Products used to improve personal and public health. Devices used to assess eye health, assist with eye surgery and primary care applications. Fluidic components such as pumps, probes, valves and connectors used by medical diagnostic OEMs.

Environmental & Analysis

Products and technologies for analysis in safety, life sciences and environmental markets. Market-leading opto-electronic technology and gas conditioning products. Products to monitor water networks, UV technology for disinfecting water, and water quality testing products.

Within the Halma Group there are 3 rupture disc companies, Elfab LimitedOseco Inc and newly formed online ordering company ECODISC.

Elfab has worked extensively with other companies within the Halma Group including Radio Tech who provided the components for Elfab’s wireless burst detection and process monitoring system Radio-Tel.

The Halma Company’s serve a wide range of industry’s worldwide. Elfab’s rupture discs can be found in a number of similar industries and applications as other companies within the Industrial Safety sector.
